Elite Theatre Arts presents A Striking Friendship…..
A play set in Yorkshire during the 1984 miners strike seen through the eyes of children. Alison and best friend Kevin struggle to fit in, but they have each other. That is until Kevin’s father decides to cross the picket line and is branded a scab, the pair try hard to remain friends against Alison’s fathers wishes.
A play full of nostalgic references to eighties pop culture this will appeal to young and old.
The playwright grew up in Yorkshire during the eighties, and now lives in Doncaster where she taught Drama in an old mining pit village secondary school for nineteen years. She is more recently the founder and principal of theatre school Elite Theatre Arts.
